Why SLA Batteries?
Lead-Acid batteries were invented in 1859 and are the oldest rechargeable battery. Sealed Lead Acid (SLA) batteries are extremely cheap to manufacture, but are much larger than NI-Cd and NI-MH batteries.

SLA Batteries contain lead, which is an environmental problem, however their effects on the environment and health are much less than that of Cadmium.

SLA batteries are usually used in budget emergency products as the price/ capacity is very low.
