Maco Software Updater Operation | | Upon starting the Software Updater it is placed into the system tray on your computer's desktop. To open the main program page simply double-click its icon, or right-click and select 'Open'. Don't worry though, even in the system tray the Software Updater is periodically checking for updates and will alert the user if any are available.
However, you may at some time wish to manually run a check for updates. To do so simply open the main program page and click the 'Check for Updates' button. The status bar and text will update and display an error message if unsuccessful. If successful, any downloads or updates are displayed within the underlying grid. This includes information such as the product, currently installed and latest available version numbers, your product license code and the size of the download or update in Megabytes (MB). | | Additionally, free trials of software may become available. These can be downloaded and installed, accompanied by a trial product license, by clicking the 'Get Trial' button. For registration purposes it is required that the user enter information such as a name and email address. Please note however, it is only possible to obtain one free trial per trial product, per computer. Should you wish to repair an installation of any particular software you already have installed, you can click the 'Download' button to download its installer package. The package is run automatically when the download completes. | | Automatic checking for software updates can be enabled/disabled via the settings page. This is accessed through the menu 'Settings->Update Settings' at the top of the main program screen or from the system tray icon right-click menu. Other options include changing the interval at which the Software Updater checks for updates. This can be made to occur on a particular date with checks at regular intervals, either daily, weekly, or monthly. |
