Commission Tool can connect to both the Tridonic Dali SCI range and to devices in the Maco proprietary Dali Network Interface range.

To connect to a Dali SCI, simply select the method of connection in the Dali Local Interface box click Connect.

Notes

  • Whilst Commission Tool does support COM based SCI Products, in order to access Enhanced Dali (EDALI) Functions a USB based SCI must be used.
  • If the product has not been authenticated only the connect TAB will be shown [ Authenitcation is an online process to validate the software you have installed has a valid software licence]

Upon successfully connecting, the Debug Window will indicate a positive connection status.  To disconnect from this device click the same button, now named Disconnect. Note: Disconnection is not necessary before exiting the program.

To connect to a Network Interface, one can either Enter IP (e.g. 192.168.1.1) and Port (e.g. 3491) and click Connect.  If the IP address of the network controller is not known, place the first three digits of the the IP range to search in (ie 192.168.1) and then the number or range of IPs to scan (1-255).  In the pictorial example, above, clicking Scan will search 192.168.1.1->192.168.1.40 for available controllers.

Once connected, selection of the Dali Line (if the controller is multi-line) can be achieved by using the Select Dali Line dropdown box.
