Intelligent Testing (intelliTest)

AWAC has its own inbuilt Intelligent Testing software (intelliTest) which allows for emergency devices to run two key emergency tests as well as feeding back many other pieces of important information. These emergency tests include:

A duration test, which will test the battery periodically (either initiated from the attached control system or through a calendar inside the emergency device itself). This test can give feedback on the device's current battery status, lamp status and if the device discharged for the required time before the battery was exhausted.
A function test, which gives quick feedback on the current status of the device, battery and lamp. This test can be initiated via the attached control system or through the emergency calendar inside the emergency device.

Faults

When a device fails it will be stored in the database. Failures can be viewed on the controller by using the web application. The fault page is the screen the user will see when loading the Emergency Testing page. Each fault in the table describes the fault, controller, bus, and address allowing the user to find the device and correct the fault with an appropriate fix. Once the device has been fixed the image in the 'Fixed' column will change from a red cross to a green tick.

To apply a fix to a device simply double click on the fault. This will bring up a dialogue where the user can enter there name and the fix they performed. Once a device is fixed it is then automatically retested if the re-test option is selected. If the device passes the test it is removed from the fault database and the new result stored in the test results CSV file.

Fixed Devices

As soon as a device is fixed the information that has been entered is stored in a database and accessible by clicking on the Fixed Devices tab on the Emergency Test Page. The illustration below shows the fixed log page with the device that was fixed in the example above.

Test Log

The test log displays all the tests that have been performed whilst the controller has been installed. If the user double clicks on one of the tests it will bring up a detailed view of the time each device was tested and if it passed or failed.

Changing Test Preferences

From the Preferences page when the user selects Emergency Tests tab they can adjust the behaviour of the function and duration tests the AWAC runs to monitor wireless emergency devices on the network.

Users are able to adjust the following:

If emergency tests are enabled/disabled
The way function/duration tests are performed
- either staggered or
- all at once
How staggered tests are performed
- how many groups
- time between testing the next group
How long to wait before re-testing after fixing a device
The start time and date for function/duration tests
The occurrence to run function/duration tests
The time between checking results of function/duration tests
The type of duration test
- pass only if duration reaches 180 minutes
- pass if 120 minutes for a new device or 90 minutes for an existing device
- pass only if duration reaches 90 minutes
- pass only if duration reaches 60 minutes
- pass only if rated duration is met
