Setting Groups and Scenes

The Groups and Scenes Tab offers an easy, streamlined method of device configuration.  Using the ability to store profiles, an installer can quickly configure a full bus, without having to manually adjust each device.

Groups may be set by simply clicking on the target device in the device tree.  If the current group data has been retrieved for this device, the currently set values will be pre-ticked in the Group Membership box. Select your new group membership scheme and click Apply To Device to commit to the selected device.  Note:  Clear removes all ticks from boxes and does not clear group memberships.  To do this, click clear then Apply To Device.

Scenes are set similarly to groups. To enable a scene (change it from 0xFF / 255, which means disabled) tick the appropriate box and enter the desired value.  Applying the settings to devices can be done three ways.  The settings can be applied to the currently selected device in the DALI Device Tree with the Apply To Device button.  To apply the settings to a certain DALI group, select the group number from the drop-down box and click Apply To Group.  Applying the settings to a full bus is as simple as clicking Apply To Bus.  To return the scene settings to the last scanned values of a device, click Reset To Device Settings and to clear the palette, click Clear.  Note:  As with the groups section, Clear and Reset To Device Settings do not actually change the device values.

Profiles may be stored for the group or scene values easily with the Profiles box.  To save a scene or group, fill in a name and click Save.  To recall a previously saved profile, simply select it from the drop-down list.  Note:  All profiles in CT are saved to disk and can be retrieved even if the program has since been closed.
