Celma Energy Efficiency Rating Because energy savings are important for the environment and the customers bottom line, a system was needed to indicate the energy consumption of a particular fluorescent ballast. Minimum energy performance standards introduced in different areas around the world have used the CELMA Energy Efficiency Index ( EEI) to define the minimum performance allowed in their markets. Additionally building consultants and specifiers have introduced EEI specifications into their designs to ensure that the ballasts used meet the design requirements. Below You can find information taken from the CELMA EEI Tables for a 1x36W T8 Lamp. Maco Lighting Uses EEI=A2 Electronic Ballasts which provide the maximum energy savings without introducing dimmable ballasts ( for the same lamp type)
What Does this mean? Using an A2 ballast in a 1x36w T8 fitting instead of the traditional B2 ballast in a building car park ( Running 10 hours /day/5.5days/week) will save over 20kW of electricity per fitting per year. This saving reduces CO2 and the customers energy bills.
