Sending Custom DALI Commands The Send Dali Tab provides an easy to use interface to a Dali Bus at the command level. From querying device values to configuration and testing, the entire power of DALI is available on this tab. Devices can be set up and tested with ease. Logs of commands can be created and passed to other installers and device manufacturers.
![]() Commands are separated into logical sections. Simply select the command type you require and the Command to send. If you require a custom E-DALI command, documentation on adding custom commands to the command selection box is available.

Commands can be sent either by scheduling them in the table below the Dali Command Setup box or by simply selecting the Send Command button. If you are sending a command using the Send Command button, the command can be set to repeat periodically by ticking the Repeat Until Unchecked box. Once started, untick the box to stop the command repeating. To add a command to the Command Over Time table, simply click Add To COT. If you wish a delay to occur prior to the command being sent (i.e. between commands), fill in a millisecond delay in the Delay (ms) box. If your command requires data (e.g. for a DTR Store) fill in the Data box.

A sample Command Over Time table is shown, below. The Start and Stop buttons to the right control the sending of commands in the Command Over Time table. To rearrange commands, click on a command and use the Up and Down buttons to move the command around. Click Delete to remove individual commands and Clear to completely purge the table. To continuously send the commands in the Command Over Time table, tick the Loop checkbox. When the commands are looping, the stop button will discontinue the process. To Log the Command Over Time, tick Log. A comma delimited log of commands will be stored in the program directory. Commission Tool is an innovative, powerful logging tool. An example of this occurs when you receive a log from an installer. You can load the log as a command over time profile and reenact the exact circumstances and commands carried out. As with other Commission Tool features, a user can save a profile of the commands in the Command Over Time table.
