Self Healing

Maco Lighting's wireless emergency fittings are designed to form a self healing network. This means that if communications are interrupted between two devices the network integrity can be maintained by changing how the devices are linked together. Using this technique the network becomes very robust. Figure 1 shows a wireless network automatically creating and modifying links as different devices join the network or become disabled.

This self healing process happens automatically and seamlessly without any prompting or aid from a technician. In the event of a device failing it will still be marked with a comms error in the control system. However, the remaining nodes in the network should still be able to continue working without any problems. Figure 2 below shows an example of a network of emergency devices that has reformed working network links after a device has failed.
